"The
Austin Center for Peace and Justice seeks to recognize
and practice nonviolence as a core value in our personal,
cultural, local, national and global relationships
and seeks to be a coordinating link for groups in
the Austin area working towards the developing of
a culture of justice and peace."
History
ACPJ was incorporate in 2001 after many
members of Austin came together to "restart"
the peace movement. Previously, the Austin Peace and
Justice Center had existed but was no longer operating.
Since 2001, ACPJ has grown and and held temporary
offices and staff and is continuing to build towards
becomming a true "center" for peace and
justice in the region.
